Hansen Belyea was proud to sponsor Build with Pride Seattle’s Resource Rendezvous as the kick-off to Construction Inclusion Week. Build with Pride is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization with a mission to create a supportive network for LGBTQIA+ professionals and their allies in fields related to construction, architecture, and engineering to build community, celebrate allyship, and provide career enhancement opportunities.
We had a blast attending the event and hearing from a fantastic selection of speakers who shared their lived experiences and insights on fostering inclusivity and openness to others. The energy in the room was electric, with people eager to connect, swap stories, and learn more about companies that express their values in diversity in their workforce.
Two members of the Hansen Belyea team, Brianna and Georgia, attended their launch event this summer and knew that this was an organization we wanted to support ast they grew. Now with only their second event ever, Build with Pride were able to host over 50 companies and organizations, which included more than 100 attendees. The event raised enough to fully fund the new Build with Pride Scholarship, a program that supports LGBTQIA+ individuals pursuing careers in the trades across the greater Seattle area.
It was an awesome opportunity to introduce Hansen Belyea to others in the industry who share these values with us. We’re excited to stay connected to the Build With Pride community as they continue to grow and further support an open dialogue for inclusivity in architecture, engineering, construction, and beyond.
